As an Irishman I enjoyed a childhood spent in pursuit of wild Irish brown trout in the limestone loughs of Connemara.

These experiences drove my development as a fly-tier, where I discovered a close correlation between the capture of large trout and my ability to tie an anatomically correct imitation of their diet.

I have hence committed my time to the creation of accurate and realistic patterns. Much of this has been achieved through the use of modern synthetics and bug bond which I look forward to demonstrating at this year’s BFFI on the tyers row.

I will be tying a range of salt and freshwater patterns which have proven very effective for me over the years. I currently work in London, chasing trout, salmon and sea bass wherever and whenever possible.
