Tenkara style of fly fishing has been around for hundreds of years but is under going a revival in many countries across North America and Europe. In Britian it is becoming more popular with an enthusiatic and ever growing band of followers. Till now all Tenkara tackle had to be bought typically from America but this has now changed with the birth of the Tenkara Center UK and new British based Company specialising in this form of fly fishing who are using the BFFI to launch it’s bespoke brand of Tenkara Fly Fishing equipment.

A disused sand quarry off Giantswood Lane was rented and a small group of like-minded fishermen formed a fishing club. From then until today (and hopefully into the future) the basic tenets have been the same although as described below the operational framework has had to change.
