Roger Salomonsson

Hi, my name is Roger Salomonsson, 39 years of age and a resident of Tyresö, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. My fly tying experiences began as a nine year old when i created my first fly, a Marabou fly, out of easter ornament feathers. As a twelve year old i knocked at the door of the late Bengt Öste, a master of the arts of tying. His wife opened the door and I asked her if Bengt was in. "Yes he is", she replied, "he's upstairs tying flies in the workshop. Why don't you go upstairs?". Since that day he was my mentor and graciously tough me everything there was to know about the craft. Bengt was a very kind and down to earth person and to this day he remains my greatest inspiration. My favourite element within fly tying is imitation flies för rainbow, grayling, trout and brooke trout. I'm really looking forward to this event as it gives me an opportunity to meet the faces of familiar names within the craft. Hope to see you all at the show! Best regards! Roger Salomonsson
