Roy Christie

I grew up in Northern Ireland where there was a wee stream nearby; started fishing and tying flies when I was  at primary school.
In the 1960's, following extreme flooding when the wee stream nearly washed away her bridges, she was dredged for the common good. I undertook putting back the rocks http://www.sexyloops.com/articles/puttingbacktherocks.shtml so that she would be forever self cleaning.

As a founder member of the Wandle Wands http://www.wandletrust.org/ I am proud of our ongoing restoration work done on this London river.
In 2005 I had the honour of producing three hundred pairs of flies as used by Admiral Nelson on the river. These sets were presented as memento to each attendee at our Celebration of Nelson on the Wandle, held at St Paul's Cathedral, where Nelson is entombed. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/features/oldflies/part366.html

My fly patterns are designed around the impression I believe the fish sees when he is feeding on natural insects.  I will be demonstrating my reversed parachute; upside down and back to front flies at BFFI 2006 and look forward to seeing many old and new friends there.

This is an excellent show. See you there

Roy
