British Fly Fair International

Peter Joest

I´m 47 years old, living in a small town in the west of Germany called Hilden and work as a mechanic in the University Hospital of Düsseldorf.
Since my childhood I have been an enthusiastic angler but have fished with the fly rod and tying flies only for around 10 years.
I have learned fly tying by myself . Only much later did I buy additional technical literature to learn other techniques. In the meantime I have create my own materials and style.
In the year 1996 I became a member of my club the “Bergischer Fischerei Verein” www.bfv1889ev.de. There I go fishing in a river called Wupper, a tributary of the Rhine, with a good stock of trout, grayling and also again occasional salmons and sea trout.
At my club and at fishing shops I give lessons about flytying. On fairs in Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark and France I proved my knowledge successfully.
Concerning the enclosed flies, the samples are similar to those which I will demonstrate also at the fair. They proved to be successful in the sea (north and Baltic Sea, Mediterranean) to catch Sea Trout, Seabass and Bluefish, as well as in the river and lake for Trout, Perches, Pike-Perches and Pike.
