Niklas Dahlin

I live with my two children and fiance in Storvreta just outside Uppsala in Sweden. I´m a 36 years old car sales manager with an obsession of flytying. 

I have been fishing for as long as I can remember but during the last three years it has gone from an interest to an obsession. My favourite fishing is in smaller streams and preferably in the northern part of Sweden.

I tied my first fly in January of 2006. I remember it was a Europea 12, size 10. It was huge with an oversized hackle as well as a  overdressed body, well you know what I mean.... But!! It was made by me and the satisfaction that it gave me was tremendous. After a couple of hundred flies and starting to get a hang of it I realized the fun of adding a personal touch to the patterns I found, and all the better satifaction for it.

At the fair i will show you my way I add a personal touch to my flies, I call it to "Quillifie them" for that I use a quill or if you will hackle stem and clear superglue. I do not take credit for inventing any techniques or saying that the flies are more fishable than others, I just do it because of my personal liking in them.

This is my fisrt visit to BFFI, I have heard from some of my friends that is a really good fair with loads of nice people and demonstrators.

I´m really looking forward to the British Flyfair International.
