Mauro Raspini

Mauro Raspini is Teacher of Computer Science and Fishing Guide,  fish with the fly and tie flies from 25 years. This passion has brought him to travel all over the world, from Alaska to the Patagonia and in many rivers of Europe for Trout, Grayling and Atlantic Salmon. For 20 years Mauro has contributed to the excellent Italian magazine, Fly Line.

He has participated as a demonstrator as a fly tyer in Europe and in the U.S.A., in 2005 he organized (in collaboration with the Government of Arezzo Provence) the 1st World Tuscany Open, a world class tying competition and presided over an international Jury. As president of the Altotevere Fly Fishing Club, in 2000 he begun in collaboration with the Government of Arezzo Provence a scientific project for the reconstruction of the habitat in the river Tevere in valley of the Montedoglio Dam, today the tail waters of the Tevere is inhabited with trout and grayling that naturally reproduce here.

Mauro is still involved with the club, the management and the protection of the reserve and the environmental Extended Biological Index of the river. Numerous projects tied to the fishing and the environment in collaboration with the Scholastic Institutions. In 2001 Mauro published "The shared rock - of flies, of fishes, of rivers and other histories". Impassioned photographer, Mauro is known best for his macro work in entomology, the best shots will be picked for the next publication that will entitled "Metamorphosis".
